take the chapstick, put it on your lips

wow, i haven't posted in a while.
so last month i was really excited for a vampire weekend concert (with beach house and dum dum girls). i had been looking forward to it for months, and so me and jee young got there five hours early to be front row. it was awesome, until they had someone come out and tell us vampire weekend would not be performing because of an illness. i was pissed off, especially because they made us wait over an hour after beach house finished.
but, i exchanged my ticket for a makeup show which was last wednesday. we got there super early again to be front row, and we met a lot of the people who were next to us in line at the cancelled show, which was cool. vampire weekend didn't disappoint this time though. they played every single song from both albums(!) and i even got a guitar pick!!

all the chocolates in your pockets are gonna melt

on friday i went to a really awesome concert with my brother and my friend jee young, and it was free! we saw brite futures (formerly natalie portman's shaved head), which is one of my favorite bands. and we were lucky enough to meet them both before and after the concert! it was such a fun concert and we were in the front row the whole time. definitely one of the best nights ever.

i need you so much closer

so the other day i went to see death cab for cutie. it was amazing. it was the second time that i have seen them in concert, but this might have been more exciting because i was with my friends, jee young, alison, patrick, nick, becca (i don't know her very will though) and alex, my friend from camp. it was awesome because we were about five feet form the stage and, right in the middle. me and jee young got there early, but it was definitely worth it. RaRaRiot was the first opener, and they were really good. it was cool, they had an electric violin and an electric cello. then the New Pornographers came out, and they were also really good. then finally Death Cab for Cutie came out. they have always been one of my most favorite bands. i remember listening to soul meets body on the radio, back when i was in sixth grade. i still love that song. it was funny because ben gibbard kept saying, "and we are Death Cab for Cutie", as if we don't know the band, that we all came to see, and are all excited about. i really enjoy living in an area that has such a great music scene.
and i really enjoy going to concerts. when all you can hear, and all you can feel is music. and you can feel the beat thrumming through your whole body. such an incredible feeling, like nothing else. and you look at all the people around you, and you know that they feel it too.
i took a ton of pictures, but i have ahad no time to get them on the computer. but when i do i will post them up here.

we come in doing cartwheels

okay so the AFA concert was a total success! we raised over $550!

it was really fun, not that many people came but thats okay. fringe shift and bad timing were both really good. we sold tons of baked goods and all the bracelets that we made.
oh and by the way the guy in the plaid shrit is christian kang, the singer and guitar player in bad timing, the main band of our concert. and the guy in the white pants and black vest in sawyer, the singer and guitar player in fringe shift. both of the bands were really good, and it was a fun concert.

then after the concert, me and my friends went to dairy queen, hahah.

i got soul, but i'm not a soldier

the other day i went to the killers concert with my friends jee young and brian. it was insane. we had alot of fun together.
it was general admission, so we got there at 4 to wait in line. it was i long time to wait, we ate a hot dog, we stood around, played the guessing game, took some pictures. i wonder what brian thought of having to hang out with me and jee young.
when it was finally 6:30 we got to go inside. it was rather funny because you weren't allowed to take cameras inside, so jee young had to hide our cameras in her shoes.
we got inside and did some more waiting before even the opening band came out. but we were up in the front, in the center, and we were excited. and this waiting gave us the chance to meet all the people around us. the guys next to us were really funny and nice. i think one of them was named anthony. anyways they would talk to us and they gave us glow sticks. oh and you know how someone will tap you on the shoulder and you look the other way? he kept doing that to me and i fell for it every time, it was funny. then the opener band finally came out, they were called wild light. and well, they weren't that good. the best part was the drummer.
oh and with all that waiting, everybody was super thirsty. the security guards that were in front would sell us water. brian got a half drunken bottle of gatorade for four dollars, funny. then later brian payed five dollars for a bottle of water, and we all shared it.
we had to wait even more before the killers came out, and everybody started going crazy. everybody was pushing up against us. and then the killers came out, insane. it was so exciting and being up in the front, we were so close. but there were so many people who would shove up against you and push you back. i don't get claustrophobic, but i felt almost like i couldn't breathe. we tried to have fun, but we were in the middle of the mosh pit. we were up there for four songs i think, but we couldn't really enjoy it, so me and jee young got out.
we spent the rest of the concert in the back, where you couldn't really see as well, but it was okay. it was funny because in the back alot of the people were old. they would nod their heads as if saying 'this is a good song' and me and jee young would be jumping up and down screaming next to them. even for being in the back it was fun. jee young took some great pictures. we sang to every song, and i lost my voice. we were so excited when they played when you were young as the last song, but sad that it was over.
we found brian and his sister (she was really nice) and we went home.
i hope brian had fun. I'm not sure what he thought of hanging out with me and jee young.
jee young slept over at my house and the next day we went to school. we were tired. even though no one wanted to hear all about it, we had fun.
me and jee young still haven't stopped listening to the killers. we want to go to more concerts together, maybe we will take brian.
i don't have that many pictures, but jee young took some good ones.
and we have the memories.
